Minutes of Meeting held at Stoke Albany Village Hall
On Saturday 6th September 2008

  • Present:PA (Chair - part time only), LM (Treasurer – Chair for this meeting), NA(Publicity and Minutes), RW (Secretary), RM, AW, SF, EH.
  • LM thanked SF on behalf of all the members for a very enjoyable morning of needle felting.
  • Minutes of the last meeting: Minutes of the last meeting have been circulated to all members - including those not on the internet.
  • Matters arising:
  • Programme: Date for Woolfest 2009 is 26/7 June.
  • Membership Cards: PA had the action on this item. She will liaise with printer of pamphlets to see about adding matching background on card .
  • Finance: LM had not followed up with those members who had not renewed their subscription. With two exceptions she is assuming membership is no longer required. RM queried whether this drop in numbers would affect our financial viability and LM confirmed that it would not.
  • Events:
  • October Learning Weekend:
  • has been cancelled due to time constraints. 4th October meeting would now be a normal members meeting.
  • Celebration of Spinning - 1st November meeting: PA agreed to email the press release to all members and asked members to distribute as widely as possible. NA to prepare a poster for distribution locally. RM/AW agreed to send to Kettering What’s On. RW to organise local freelance reporter. NA to distribute to local Spinning groups where addresses can be found.
  • Visit to Framlingham – Dyeing Workshop: Planned for early in 2009
  • Website:
    No news to report. NA and RW had both tried to access the site and found access denied. JB requested to try to resolve this issue with Bruce.
  • Any Other business:
  • ASWD Journal: Linda confirmed that members could buy copies through the Guild for £12. Contact her if you would like your own copy.
  • Australian Dyes: RW had received a comprehensive leaflet on these dyes. Contact RW if you would like further info.
  • Sacrewell Festival of Food and Farming – 13/14 September 10.00am-4.00pm each day: RW had only just received information and would be going to represent the Guild.
  • Date of Next Meeting:Saturday 4th October, Stoke Albany Village Hall, LE16 8PL 10am - 4.00pm Cost: £5.00. Coffee and tea is provided. Faith Lunch - please bring something to share. Discussion. Talking table. For sale table. Spin in.
